Hats for Hope: Breast Health Awareness Luncheon featured a physician panel, inspirational breast cancer survivors and a gourmet lunch.
Iberia Medical Center Foundation, OncoLogics and the City of New Iberia was proud to present the first annual Hats for Hope Luncheon to celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors in Acadiana. The event took place on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Sliman Theater from 11:30am-1:00pm. The event included a panel discussion from breast health focused physicians. Drs. Jonathan W. Thompson, Radiation Oncologist, Oncologics, Dr. Kurt Obrien, Surgeon, Iberia Medical Center and Georgios Constantinou, Oncologist, Cancer Center of Acadiana-New Iberia comprise the expert physician panel who discussed breast cancer prevention, treatment and wellness in the informal setting of the Sliman Theater. A local breast cancer survivor shared her personal journey with breast cancer. Iberia Medical Center provided a lovely lunch and there was a contest on the most creative, most humorous and most original hat.
For over 10 years, the Iberia Medical Center Foundation has been committed to the mission of the First Friday Program is to increase awareness of the importance of early detection, honor those who have had breast cancer, provide free screening mammograms for people in need, and to help save lives. Hats for Hope will support the First Friday Breast Screening Program under the Iberia Medical Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
